Please join us at KoKoLuLu Farm and Qigong Center in Hawi, Hawaii (The Big Island) for a very special evening of music and chanting with Shyamdas. This event is to be held on Sunday, April 8, 2007 at 6:30 p.m. There is no charge for this concert, but donations are welcomed to support Shyamdas's work throughout the world. Shyamdas, well-known devotional practitioner, author and musician, presents Bhakti Yoga programs that combine ecstatic kirtan singing with stories and teachings of the path of devotion. He speaks from his background as a Vedic scholar and Sanskrit translator to share the philosophy of non-dual Reality. In the Path of Grace, the devotional practitioner develops broad, loving view as well as direct relationship with the all-blissful divine.
Shyamdas traveled to India in 1972 to meet Neem Karoli Baba and lived as a sadhu in Braj, the sacred lands of Shri Krishna, for 8 years. He then continued to explore the Bhakti lineages of India under the tutelage of His Holiness Goswami Prathameshji.
Shyamdas has written and translated more than 20 books on Bhakti Yoga and the Path of Grace and is a recognized speaker in the West, as well as in India. He specializes in classical Dhrupada music and the mystic poets of North India. Shyamdas has released three CDs which reflect the diversity of his musical and devotional experiences. They are Cool Dual (2006), Sweet Radhe (2005) and Beloved Chants (2004).

The POWER OF IMAGERY TO HEAL BODY and SOUL

RITUALS FOR HEALTH AND HEALING
January 26, 27, and 28th
at KOKOLULU

        with Dr. Jeanne Achterberg

What is Imagery?
Imagery is the world's most ancient form of medicine; it is the source for every creative idea and the basis of healing ceremonies since the beginning of time. Now, with substantial clinical and research evidence supporting the use of imagery, practitioners from around the globe are utilizing it in a broad range of treatment settings for various physical, emotional, and spiritual crises.

RITUALS FOR HEALTH AND HEALING
This session will include healing rituals of many forms, and the scientific and rationale for the revival and use of ceremony and symbol. The participants will learn of application of these areas to today's health challenges. The cross cultural form for conducting rituals will be taught, as well as the relationship between community, others, and self to healing. You will learn to empower yourself and others in the use of emerging symbols of health. The three days will include ceremonial expressions and experiences, and the members will have the opportunity to plan and conduct ceremonies involving dreams, inner wisdom, and spiritual truths. Please read Dr. Achterberg's book, Rituals for Health and Healing, before this training.

Who Should Consider Attending?
The training is designed for health care professionals such as physicians, nurses, counselors, pastors and spiritual directors who are interested in the mind/body relationship, massage therapists, and other practitioners of alternative or integrated forms of treatment. Health consumers who are actively and responsibly engaged in their own healing and who have some familiarity with the concepts will also benefit from the seminar.

Level II - SELF-DISCOVERY: TOOLS FOR THE JOURNEY (Requirement: Must have completed Level I)
August 25, 26, and 27, 2006
at KOKOLULU

        with Dr. Jeanne Achterberg

Level II (Leading to a Certification in Imagery Therapy)

What is Imagery?
Imagery is the world's most ancient form of medicine; it is the source for every creative idea and the basis of healing ceremonies since the beginning of time. Now, with substantial clinical and research evidence supporting the use of imagery, practitioners from around the globe are utilizing it in a broad range of treatment settings for various physical, emotional, and spiritual crises.

Level II - SELF-DISCOVERY: TOOLS FOR THE JOURNEY
This session will continue the exploration of the healing power of imagery for health and wellness and the focus will be on self-renewal. This can result from crises, separations, and challenges to familiar ways of being in the world. Often it takes place during the second half of life. The time can mask as depression, addiction, or quite simply, the knowing that changes in our lives will be required. This time will be presented as a rite of passage, and participants will be led through a three-day process for engaging in the authentic self; including awaking, discovery, healing, and creativity. With this and the next Level, participants will be provided with a structure for beginning to work with imagery with others and they may communicate with Dr. Achterberg on issues that they are addressing. Dr. Achterberg's book Imagery and Healing: Shamanism and Modernism will be helpful reading for this and all Levels.

Advanced Training
Dr. Achterberg will teach two more advanced seminars (November 3-5 and in January next year) and provide practical supervision, leading to a Certification in Imagery Therapy. This Seminar is a pre-requisite for the subsequent training sessions.

with Jenny Bird and Michael Mandrell

Please JOIN US on the Lawn (weather permitting) at KoKoLuLu. Feel free to bring a picnic dinner. In case of rain, we will move into the Temple

Jenny Bird
Jenny Bird has been called "the most passionate performer in the new folk/rock genre." The stage is her second home where she's been presenting her original songs since the age of ten. Professionally managed as a teenager, Jenny lived and recorded in Germany and Belgium. For the last 20 years, she's toured widely and consistently, playing festivals and clubs across Europe, Canada, and the United States. She is well respected in her home town of Taos, New Mexico where she records and teaches music.
Jenny's discography includes five all-original recordings which have received radio play internationally. Her recordings feature such guests as blues virtuoso Rory Block and rainbow warrior Eliza Gilkyson. And Jenny has appeared throughout the country, performing on the same stage with Sheryl Crow, John Prine, Iris Dement, JJ Cale, Blues Traveller, Sinead O'Connor, Indigo Girls and Sarah McLachlan, to name a few. Jenny's music leaves her audiences touched, transformed, inspired and singing all the way home.

Michael Mandrell
As Public Radio International's "Echoes" host John Diliberto put it in a recent interview, "Michael Mandrell is the acoustic guitar player infusing his original melodies with Indian scales and a Celtic lilt." Michael honed his open-tuning guitar chops in the early 80's on the Texas folk circuit, performing with and opening for many prominent and upcoming artists such as Nancy Griffith, Lyle Lovett and John Gorka to name just a few. Moving to Taos, NM in 1991, Michael performed with the world fusion group "Taos" co-producing their CD, "The Deepening Edge", released nationally on Blix Street Records. His self produced CD, "The Great Spiral Dance" continues in the world fusion tradition with all original guitar compositions, adding flutes, East Indian percussion, Uillean pipes and other ethnic instruments. Lyrical, haunting, melodic, Michael Mandrell's "The Great Spiral Dance" contains music from the film Stone Reader by Mark Moskowitz (www.stonereader.net).
More recently Mandrell colaborated with Benjy Wertheimer to produce "Anjali" a mystical yoga/meditation CD. "Anjali" features an improvisational mix of Michael's guitar work with the Benjy's stellar Tabla and Esraj playing.
Michael tours regionally and nationally, playing solo as well as with many of the acoustic warrior road tribe, including Jenny Bird (www.jennybird.com), Lynn Wedekind (www.lynnwedekind.com)and Benjy Wertheimer (www.benjymusic.com).
